* TEAMS WILL BE RESEEDED BASED ON 1ST ROUND - REG SEASON STANDINGS WILL ACT AS TIE BREAKER
Play-off Rules 2011
1. All players must play at least three innings of the first six innings of each game in the field.
2. There will be no substitutions allowed on the field during an inning. The only exceptions will be if an injury occurs or if the team wants to make a pitching change.
3. All games will be finished to completion i.e. the full seven innings. If any circumstances arise during a game that causes the game to be stopped, it will resume at that point and finished in its entirety.
4. Ontario Softball rules will apply if a game is tied and play goes into extra innings.
5. Teams may use only eligible players from their roster for play-off games.
6. The eight teams will be divided into 2 four-team divisions determined from the regular season final standings for Round 1. Teams that finish 1st, 4th, 5th, & 8th will make up one division and teams that finish 2nd, 3rd, 6th & 7th will make up the second division. . Every team is guaranteed at least two games. Once you lose two games, your team is eliminated. The following is the schedule of the first games of the round robin: Group 1 : 1 st vs. 8 th , 4 th vs.5 th , Group 2: 2 nd vs.7 th , 3 rd vs. 6 th. The winners of the first games and the losers of the first games will play each other in the second games. The winners of the winning team's games move on to Round 2 and the losers of the losing team's games are eliminated. The losing teams from the winner's games and the winning teams from the loser's games then meet to determine the other two teams moving on to Round 2. The same double elimination format for Round 1 will apply to Round 2 until we determine a league champion. The teams that finish Round 1 at 2-0 will be seeded 1 st and 2 nd in Round 2 and the teams that finish Round 1 at 2-1 will be seeded 3 rd and 4 th in Round 2. Regular season records will act as the tie breaker for seeding. Once a team loses two games they are eliminated.
7. The team with the better regular season record will be the home team for all of the games of the round robin in Round 1. Teams will then be re-seeded for Round 2, and the higher seeded team will be the home team.
8. Please make sure you designate your players that need to be pinch-run for at the beginning of each game to the opposing coach. They, along with catchers if there are two out, must be substituted by the last out of a non-designated player. Please make sure that your pitch-runners are ready to be inserted, so that the games are played in a timely fashion.
